Exciting information about
International Women’s Day Group!
Our award winning International Women’s Group meets every Tuesday during school term time from 10.00am – 2.00pm at the Church Hall.
- provide a safe place for new arrivals,(and not so new) refugees or sponsored migrants, to meet on a weekly basis.

- provide English conversation instruction for women focusing on new arrivals unable to access formal Government provided tuition due to transport and family difficulties.
- teach the basics of keyboard and computer skills and assist women in learning for the written driving test

- provide an opportunity for new arrivals to meet with local residents in a non-threatening environment
- provide an opportunity for new arrivals to have access to sewing machines and learn the fundamentals of “dressmaking”.
- provide instruction in Australian type cooking and the importance of healthy eating habits.
- encourage women to take over the running of International Women’s Group
- provide information on health, nutrition and government support options.
- encourage newly arrived women to take over the running of International Women’s Day.
